NOTE: Before continuing with this guide, you must be approved for a “Twitter Developer account.” If you haven’t done this, read the "Twitter Developer Account" section. If you have been approved, please ignore this and continue.

Sign into your Twitter Account

Head over to

Create an app using the "Create an app" button.

App details

App Name

[your discord group name] + success

You may name this whatever you would like.

Application Description

ex. Mesh Monitors' Success

Website URL

Tell us how this app will be used

I will use my app to learn how to develop a bot and make requests to APIs. I will not analyze any Twitter data.

Press "Create" button.

Press "Create" button again.

After your first app has been created head over to the app's page and navigate over to "Keys and tokens".

Press "Generate" button at "Access token ..."

Verify the app has read and write permissions. If you do not have write permissions change the setting, regenerate the key and token

At this point, you should have your:

API Key:

API Secret:

Access Token:

Access Secret:

To get your Twitter success poster setup we just need the following:

  • Keys & Tokens

  • Success channel ID

  • Link to your main Twitter account

  • Link to your success Twitter account

You do need to send one tweet from your main account and @ your success account.

Because the success account will @ the main every time it posts. Twitter will limit the account as spam if the other account hasn't been mentioned the main account before in a tweet.
